How to Make Pop Up Cards Tutorial
This is Lesson 3 in a series of step by step tutorials on How to Make Pop Ups.
Pop Up Card V fold
The most basic v fold pop up is a symmetrical 45 degree angle fold.
To make this v fold pop up, fold a piece of paper in half.
Draw a square with one side on the fold.
Cut along the solid black line.
Score along the dotted line.
Crease, then uncrease along the dotted line to set the fold.
Push from the back to pop the V forward.
Turned this way, it coiuld be a vase or a spout or a bottom lip. Turned upside down it resembles a tree, or a skirt, a hat, or a beak.
A V fold is actually a box with one short side and one long side. Make some samples! Draw a simple box pop up. Now shorten one side. Now try it with an even shorter side. Now so short there isn't a side at all. Oh look, it's a V fold!
Try changing the angle of the fold to make a nose. Change the shape of the cut to make a heart.
