Scalloped Circle Stand Up Card

Inverting a scalloped circle forms the wave-like pattern around this standing card, which has a passing resemblance to a snow globe.  This pop up card is designed to accommodate a free-hanging center motif. The interlocking base allows it to stand on its own.

How to make a scalloped circle stand-up card with hanging design

Make it!

Click to download file set for the card stand: Silhouette Studio, PDF, SVG (how to use my SVG files in Cricut Design Space).

Use double sided card stock:
--one sheet patterned for the stand
--one sheet solid color for the hanging design

From the patterned card stock:
--cut one circle with feet
--cut one stand bottom, match it to the feet of the circle, and adhere (for strength)
-- cut two of the cross brace feet and adhere back-to-back

Assemble the stand by sliding the slots together.  There is a tiny tab to lock the pieces in place.

Cut an inner design from solid colored card stock.
The inner cut out of the stand is 3" in diameter.  To allow hanging room I cut my inner designs with the largest dimension 2.75".

Hang the inner design from a small loop of fishing line.

For the inner motifs of my two cards, I used files from the Silhouette Store: Turtle #4336296 and Mermaid and the Sea #268393.

I simplified the scales on the mermaid tail, and added a small brace between the top of the fin and the top of the wave for stability.

The patterned double-sided card stock used in both cards is from a pack called Watercolor Garden.
