This week on The Cuttlebug Spot there's a challenge to make a man's card. Valentine's Day is coming, so I got to work.
I just got a Cuttlebug for Christmas. So far all I've done is a little embossing, including the front of this Valentine card. Doesn't the embossing look like steam?
Most of the papers are AC Card stock. The small coffee pot and cup on the front are Kiwi Metallic Cover by The Paper Company, outlined with Sakura Glaze pen. Floral cutout on the large cup from a paper by Frances Meyer. The steam is Glaze pen on acetate. I cut out the cover letters and the scalloped green piece with my CraftRobo.
As the card is opened flat (180°) the steam pops out of the cup. The cup itself floats about 1" above the card.
Here's a look at the pop up mechanism.
I'm working on a tutorial for this pop up mechanism, the floating tabletop, so look for Lesson 22 soon.
