Mother's Day Cards

The first one, a pop up card, is for my mother-in-law. Not so sure she would appreciate the one I'm sending to my own mother.

The background paper is a freebie from One of a Kind Design Studio. (I changed the color from blue to red.) I used the Cape Jasmine pattern from A Paradise of Origamic Architecture for the inside pop up flower. (Which you can get, free. See previous post here.)

Only, now that I look at the pattern, I see I was supposed to glue the overlap of the petals on the inside of the flower, not the outside (whoops). And is it me, or does the flower on the front look like a little campfire? Seriously, on the real card it doesn't.

Let's not talk about the fact that the finished card is 1/8" too big for the envelope I planned to put it in. Grrr.

Speaking of which, this one is 1/2" too big for the darn envelope. I was definitely measurement impaired last night.

Well, my mother will think it's funny.

Pull the tab to move the back leg.

Believe it or not, this mechanical card is a Martha Stewart design. I used my own dog and added the background paper, which is a freebie from Elemental Pixie.
